homepage pulled over by policeThere are about 40,000 arrests in New York for DWI/DUI related offenses every year. This number has remained relatively consistent over the last decade. There has been a slight decrease in arrests over the last couple of years, likely due to public awareness of how tough New York is on DWI/DUI offenses.

New York is one of the toughest on the enforcement of DWI/DUI offenses and the trend throughout New York State has been a push for additional violations and harsher penalties for DWI/DUI arrests. Law enforcement agencies have increased their vigilance in detection and arrest of individuals for drunk driving offenses. District Attorney’s offices throughout the state have become stricter in their prosecution of drunk driving offenses, with a reduced willingness to plea bargain and seeking firm penalties. These NYSPincreases in the number of ways in which individuals can run afoul of DWI/DUI laws, the increased enforcement and prosecution of such offenses and tougher penalties all highlight the reasons that you should not go to Court alone on these cases.
